New Year’s 2017 Inspiration

Happy 2017.

The world has changed quite a bit, to say the least, since my last blog post. As artists, our faith in our country’s democratic foundations is being challenged. But, as Toni Morrison said it best, “This is precisely the time when artists go to work….We speak, we write, we do language. That is how civilizations heal.”

There is much on the literary horizon for 2017. One of the best ways to celebrate writing here in Queens, NYC will be at the Queens Lit Fest (April 29-April 30) at LIC Landing by COFFEED. For more information, check out the Queens Lit Fest event page.

And as our departed and beloved poet, Leonard Cohen wrote, “Ring the bells that still can ring. Forget your perfect offering. There is a crack in everything. That’s how the light gets in.”

So let’s keep writing, painting, singing, and contributing our artistic visions to the world. It will make it better, with time and faith.

Peace and inspiration,

Stephanie
